Mazzucconi produces over 3 million steering housings in high-pressure die casting per year for the major tier-1 steering gear producers in Europe.

The steering housing is a component with safety characteristics that requires high standards of metallurgical quality and the respect of tight tolerances. Mazzucconi supplies its clients with steering housings for all types of steering gears, either hydraulic or electric, for the mid- to high-end range of passenger cars.

Mazzucconi is one of the few suppliers, operating in the field of the most prestigious powertrain components in terms of geometry and metallurgical characteristics: cylinder heads and engine blocks.

The 4- and 6-cylinder cylinder blocks are produced in low pressure die casting with inorganic sand cores, whereas the cylinder heads are produced in gravity tilt casting with hot-box sand cores. 

For each of the casting technologies, Mazzucconi has developed its casting equipment internally.

For cylinder head production, Mazzucconi is able to offer a product that is completely machined and assembled as well.

In recent years, car manufacturers have increased the application of aluminium components in suspension systems in order to reduce the weight of their vehicles.

Over the last decade, Mazzucconi has built up a firm position in the supply of suspension components. The vast experience and know-how of its engineers enables Mazzucconi to find the best possible compromise between weight reduction and structural and safety characteristics, starting from the clients’ requirements.

Mazzucconi offers an integrated manufacturing process, starting from the casted part up to machining and assembly according to client specifications. Several car manufacturers in the premium segment rely on Mazzucconi for supply of over 3 million suspension components per year.
